NBA: Miami 125, Houston 119

HOUSTON, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- A season-best 45 points from Dwyane Wade Wednesday sent the Miami Heat to its 10th consecutive road victory, a 125-119 win over Houston.

The Rockets had won their previous eight home games and battled the Heat on even terms until late in the third period. Miami then inched ahead and survived down the stretch despite giving up 100 points for the first time in 17 games.

The Heat has won four in a row and 16 out of 17.

Wade made 17-of-24 from the field and all 10 of his attempts from the foul line. He reached 40 points for the 30th time in his career.

Chris Bosh chipped in 21 points and LeBron James had 20. The Heat shot 58 percent from the field and was 34-of-37 from the stripe.

Miami went 15-1 in December, establishing a franchise record for most wins in the month.

Houston got 22 points from Luis Scola, 21 from Kevin Martin and 20 from Aaron Brooks.
