NEW YORK, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- New York Islanders goaltender Dwayne Roloson was selected the top NHL player of the week, the league said Monday.

Roloson was one of three players the NHL honored Monday. Detroit forward Henrik Zetterberg was given No. 2-star honors while Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby took the third player of the week award for games played Dec. 20-26.

Roloson won all three of his starts last week, putting together a 0.98 goals against average and saving more than 97 percent of the shots he faced.

Zetterberg had three goals and four assists last week as the Red Wings moved back into first place in the Western Conference standings.

Crosby had four goals and three assists for the Penguins, who have the most standings points in the NHL. Crosby has recorded at least one point in his last 24 games, the longest such streak since Mats Sundin turned the trick in 30 consecutive games in the 1992-93 season.
