Woods keeps four-shot lead

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods shot a steady 4-under-par 68 Saturday that kept him four shots in front with one round to play at the Chevron World Challenge.

Woods missed the tournament's 54-hole scoring record by two shots, but stayed on pace to win for the fifth time in an event he hosts.

He produced a three-day total of 17-under 199. Graeme McDowell, who finished second here last year and then won the U.S. Open in June, was alone in second at 203 after shooting a 68. Paul Casey was third at 207.

Hunter Mahan, Sean O'Hair, Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy were tied for fourth at 209. Both Donald and McIlroy stumbled to rounds of 73.

Defending champion Jim Furyk, who on Saturday was named the PGA Tour player of the year by a vote of his fellow competitors, was 12th in a field of 18. He shot a 71 for a 216 total.

Woods suffered a bogey at the second, but he birdied three in a row beginning at the par-5 fifth to get his round going.
