NHL: Colorado 7, Minnesota 4

DENVER, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Greg Mauldin had two goals and a pair of assists Saturday, supplying much of the Colorado Avalanche's firepower in their 7-4 win over Minnesota.

Trailing 2-1 entering the second period, the Avalanche exploded for four straight goals, including the two from Mauldin.

Matt Duchene, Milan Hejduk, Paul Stastny and David Jones also scored for Colorado, and rookie defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk posted a goal and two assists.

Peter Budaj earned the victory after stopping 28 shots for the Avalanche.

The Wild lost for the third time in four games. They were led by Kyle Brodziak's two goals. Matt Cullen and Antti Miettinen also scored.

Niklas Backstrom allowed all seven goals on 38 shots for Minnesota before being chased in the final period in favor of Jose Theodore.
