Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

BEREA, Ohio, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Quarterback Jake Delhomme will start Sunday for Cleveland, going against his old team, the Carolina Panthers.
"He's done a good job this week and I'm excited about him playing against a team he's had a lot of familiarity with," Browns Coach Eric Mangini said Friday at the team's training camp in Berea, Ohio.
Delhomme played seven seasons for Carolina. He joined the Browns this year, beginning as the starter before an ankle injury put him on the sidelines.
Rookie Colt McCoy started the last five games for Cleveland. But McCoy also has an ankle injury and Delhomme takes over against Carolina.
