NBA: New Orleans 96, Miami 93

NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- David West made two free throws with 7 seconds left Friday and the New Orleans Hornets survived a missed 3-point try by Eddie House to defeat Miami 96-93.

New Orleans remained unbeaten in five games this season and handed the Heat their second setback of the campaign.

Emeka Okafor dominated inside by making 12-of-13 shots for 26 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Chris Paul had 19 assists to go with his 13 points.

New Orleans led by 11 late in the third period but Miami climbed to within one down the stretch. Trevor Ariza gave the Hornets a four-point lead by hitting a 3-point shot with 14 seconds to go.

Chris Bosh answered with a 3-pointer 6 seconds later, after which West made his two free throws.

House attempted his 3-pointer with 4 seconds to go and West grabbed the rebound to clinch the victory.

Dwyane Wade scored 28 points for Miami but turned the ball over seven times. LeBron James had 20 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.
