ATLANTA, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Al Horford touched off a game-closing 14-4 run Wednesday that brought the unbeaten Atlanta Hawks a 94-85 victory over Detroit.

The Hawks have started the season 5-0 for the second time in three years and are the only team in the Eastern Conference without a loss.

Detroit is winless in five games.

The Pistons had an 81-80 lead when Horford put the Hawks in front for good on a layup with 4:30 to play. Horford's dunk 35 seconds later increased the lead to three points.

Both Horford and Josh Smith hit 8-of-12 shots from the field, with Smith scoring 22 points and Horford 18. Atlanta shot 53 percent overall.

Ben Gordon led the Pistons with 22 and Tayshaun Prince scored 17.

Until Atlanta's late surge, the largest lead of the game for either team had been six points.
