GLENDALE, Ariz., Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Anton Babchuk's goal with 2:08 left in overtime Saturday boosted the Carolina Hurricanes to a 4-3 decision over Phoenix.

Babchuk got the game-winner when he collected a nice cross-ice pass from Joni Pitkanen, who had gained control of the puck at the right circle. Babchuk was able to chip the puck past Ilya Bryzgalov and into the net for the decisive tally.

The Hurricanes also got goals from Patrick Dwyer, Jussi Jokinen and Sergei Samsonov in the victory to back netminder Cam Ward, who stopped 36-of-39 shots for the visitors.

Phoenix got two goals and an assist from Kyle Turris while Bryzgalov turned aside 37-of-41 shots in the defeat.
