ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Nigel Dawes scored the only shootout goal in the fourth round Friday, boosting the Atlanta Thrashers to a 5-4 victory over Anaheim.

Atlanta's Anthony Stewart had a hat trick, two of the goals coming in the final 10 minutes of regulation to rally the Thrashers from a 4-2 deficit. Stewart had not produced a goal during Atlanta's first three games.

The Ducks lost for the fourth time in five outings this season.

Chris Mason collected the win, stopping 37-of-41 shots in regulation and overtime and all four shots he faced in the shootout.

Three of the four Anaheim goals came on the power play, including scores by Teemu Selanne with 52 seconds left in the second period and by Ryan Getzlaf 6:35 into the third. Those two goals gave Anaheim its 4-2 advantage before Stewart brought the Thrashers back in the late going.

Jonas Hiller stopped 29 shots in the loss.
