DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Cristie Kerr and Suzann Pettersen both improved their positions in the world women's golf rankings released Monday.

Kerr had a chance to grab the No. 1 spot, which she lost to Ai Miyazato in the Aug. 23 rankings, but saw her lead at the Navistar LPGA Classic slip away Sunday. Still, her tie for third was enough to move her ahead of Jiyai Shin and into second in the rankings.

Miyazato has a rankings points average of 10.86, just ahead of Kerr's 10.76 and Shin is third at 10.52

Pettersen edged ahead of Tseng 10.33 to 10.32 even though neither competed at the Navistar.

Cho Na-yeon is sixth (9.50 average) and Michelle Wie (8.38) occupies the No. 7 slot. Kim In-kyung, with a 7.26 average, holds on to the eighth spot with Kim Song-hee (7.23) in ninth and Paula Creamer (7.12) completing the Top 10.
