MLB: Kansas City 8, Chicago White Sox 2

CHICAGO, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Brayan Pena keyed an 18-hit attack with a pair of RBI Saturday and the Kansas City Royals pounded the Chicago White Sox 8-2.

The Royals also got three hits and an RBI each from Gregor Blanco, Wilson Betemit and Mitch Maier, snapping a four-game losing streak with the victory.

Alex Gordon went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Kila Ka'aihue collected three hits to back starter Kyle Davies (8-9), who went six innings, yielding only one run on five hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

Chisox starter Edwin Jackson (3-1) was rocked for 13 hits and six runs in five-plus innings, absorbing his first loss since coming to Chicago from the Arizona Diamondbacks at the trade deadline.

Paul Konerko clubbed hit his 34th home run and doubled for the White Sox, who came into the contest in second place, five games behind Minnesota in the American League Central.

The setback was the fourth in five games for Chicago.
