NEW YORK, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Twin brothers Bob and Mike Bryan won their third U.S. Open doubles title Friday, defeating Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi in straight sets.

The Bryans, the No. 1-ranked doubles team in the world, beat Bopanna and Qureshi, the No. 16-seeded team, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-4).

It was the ninth Grand Slam title overall for the Bryans, who also won U.S. Open championships in 2005 and 2008. They won the Australian Open doubles title this year.

The Bopanna-Qureshi pairing has grabbed attention because Bopanna is Indian and Qureshi is Pakistani and come from countries that are long-time rivals.

Bob Bryan teamed with Liezel Huber and won the mixed doubles title on Thursday. Huber and Nadia Petrova qualified for the women's doubles finals with a victory Friday.
