SAN DIEGO, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Miguel Tejada and Adrian Gonzalez combined for five RBI on a pair of homers Wednesday, sending the San Diego Padres coasting past Arizona 9-3.

San Diego moved 6 1/2 games in front of second-place San Francisco in the National League West after the Giants wasted a nine-run rally earlier in the day and lost to Cincinnati in 12 innings.

Tejada hit a two-run homer in the first to overcome an early 1-0 deficit and Gonzalez blasted a three-run shot in the fourth that gave the Padres a 9-2 lead. It was the 26th homer of the season for Gonzalez.

San Diego also struck for a four-run third that was finished off by Yorvit Torrealba's two-run single. Three of the runs in that inning were unearned thanks to two Arizona errors.

Wade LeBlanc (8-11) won for the third time in four starts, allowing three runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings.

The loss went to Joe Saunders (7-14), who was touched for six runs on eight hits in four innings.
