MIAMI, July 24 (UPI) -- Brooks Conrad smacked a grand-slam homer Saturday, capping an eight-run rally and lifting the Atlanta Braves to a 10-5 win over Florida.
Trailing 5-2 entering the eighth, the Braves exploded for eight runs. Troy Glaus drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk and Eric Hinske delivered a two-run single off Jhan Marinez (1-1) to tie the score.
Florida Manager Edwin Rodriguez then brought in Burke Badenhop to pitch and Conrad pinch-hit for Atlanta pitcher Jesse Chavez (2-1). Conrad lofted a fly to right that just eluded the grasp of Mike Stanton, giving the first-place Braves a grand slam and evening their series with Florida at a game apiece.
Martin Prado homered and Jason Heyward went 3-for-3 with two runs scored for the victors.
Dan Uggla smacked a homer and drove in three runs, and Gaby Sanchez added two hits and an RBI for the Marlins.
