ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 20 (UPI) -- Josh Johnson held Tampa Bay to one run over eight innings Sunday, sparking the Florida Marlins to a 4-1 inter-league decision over the Rays.
Johnson (8-2) struck out nine and didn't walk a batter, allowing six hits in raising his record to 5-1 in his last eight starts. During that span he has posted a sub-0.50 ERA.
The only run Johnson surrendered was Carl Crawford's solo homer in the fourth inning.
Leo Nunez pitched a scoreless ninth for his 15th save.
Wes Helms hit a two-run homer while Gaby Sanchez and Mike Stanton got the other RBI as Florida took the rubber match of a three-game series with their cross-state inter-league rivals.
David Price (10-3) suffered the loss for the Rays, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits over six innings.
