MLB: Atlanta 5, Kansas City 4

ATLANTA, June 19 (UPI) -- Troy Glaus bashed a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday to hand the Atlanta Braves a 5-4 inter-league win over Kansas City.

Glaus, the first batter faced by reliever Robinson Tejeda (2-3) in a tie game, launched a pitch deep into the left field stands for his 14th homer, giving Atlanta its sixth win in seven games.

Brian McCann homered and Chipper Jones added two hits and an RBI for the victors.

Billy Wagner (5-0) was credited with the win after tossing a scoreless top of the ninth. Atlanta starter Kris Medlen surrendered three earned runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Scott Podsednik and Jason Kendall each knocked in a pair of runs in the Royals' loss.
