MLB: San Diego 8, Toronto 2

SAN DIEGO, June 16 (UPI) -- Aaron Cunningham hit a grand slam home run and Matt Latos turned in a strong start Tuesday to lead the San Diego Padres past Toronto 8-2.

Cunningham, who was making his first start for the Padres since being called up from Class AAA Portland during the weekend, reached for a pitch from Brett Cecil (7-3) in the second inning and hit a towering fly ball that drifted over the center field wall to give San Diego the early 4-0 lead.
