MLB: New York Yankees 12, Baltimore 7

BALTIMORE, June 8 (UPI) -- Curtis Granderson hit a grand slam, Nick Swisher drove in five runs and the New York Yankees blasted Baltimore 12-7 Tuesday.

Granderson's bases-loaded clout came in the third and extended the Yankees' lead to 6-0. Swisher socked a two-run homer in the first and delivered a bases-clearing double in the seventh inning to add to New York's rout of the O's.

Mark Teixeira added a two-run shot among his three hits and Robinson Cano was 3-for-4 with two runs scored to help the Yanks to their ninth straight win over Baltimore.

Pat Hughes (8-1) notched the victory despite allowing three runs on nine hits over six innings.

Kevin Millwood (0-7) was tagged for six runs on 10 hits through 5 2/3 innings.

Adam Jones homered and Nick Markakis drove in a pair of runs for the O's.
