Bryans lift U.S. to Worlds win over Spain

DUSSELDORF, Germany, May 19 (UPI) -- The doubles team of Bob and Mike Bryan lifted the United States to a win over Spain Wednesday at the ATP World Team Championship in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The Bryans teamed to defeat the Spanish duo of Daniel Gimeno-Traver and Marc Lopez 6-3, 7-5. Coupled with Tuesday's singles win by Sam Querrey, the win gave the United States a 2-1 triumph over Spain and a spot in the finals of tourney's Red Group -- where the U.S. team will face the Czech Republic, which defeated Australia with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) singles win by Thomas Berdych over Carsten Ball.

The winner of the U.S.-Czech Red Group show down will face the winner of Blue Group in the World Team Championship finals.

In the Blue bracket, Argentina rallied from a 1-0 deficit to down Germany 2-1, thanks to Eduardo Schwank's 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 6-3 singles win over Andreas Beck and a 6-2, 6-3 victory by the doubles team of Juan Monaco and Horacio Zeballos over Philipp Kohlschreiber and Christopher Kas.

Argentina will face France for the Blue Group title after the French team prevailed over defending champ Serbia 2-1.
