Colorado downed Washington 6-2 in the day's first game, a makeup contest for Friday night's rain-out in Denver.

Jason Hammel (1-2) pitched well in his first start after coming off the 15-day disabled list with a strained groin. He yielded three runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out seven.

Manny Corpas pitched a scoreless ninth to notch his first save.

The Nats were led at the plate by Adam Dunn's homer.
