Wie takes lead on LPGA circuit

MORELIA, Mexico, April 30 (UPI) -- Michelle Wie shot a five-under 68 Friday and moved a shot in front after two rounds of the Tres Marias Championship in Mexico.

Wie, looking for her second victory on the LPGA Tour, completed 36 holes at the Tres Marias Golf Club in 12-under 134. She held onto the lead despite suffering a bogey on each of the final two holes.

First-round leader Ai Miyazato, who won the first two events on the LPGA circuit this season, was at 135 after shooting a 72. She shared second place with Brittany Lincicome.

Na Yeon Choi was alone in fourth at 137, one shot in front of Jee Young Lee.

World No. 1 Lorena Ochoa, who has announced she will retire after this event, was tied for sixth at 139.
