NBA: Chicago 109, Cleveland 108

CHICAGO, April 8 (UPI) -- Joakim Noah's tip-in with 69 seconds left were the final points of the game Thursday and gave the Chicago Bulls a vital 109-108 victory over Cleveland.

The Cavaliers missed four shots in the final minute and the Bulls failed on four free throw attempts in a series of miscues that left the Bulls with a win. The victory lifted Chicago into a tie with Toronto for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Both Chicago and Toronto have four games remaining.

With Cleveland having already clinched the best record in the NBA, superstar LeBron James sat out the contest.

Derrick Rose led Chicago with 24 points and 10 assists. Kirk Hinrich added 23 points, making 8-of-12 shots from the field.

Mo Williams poured in 35 for the Cavaliers, including six 3-point shots.
