NHL: Edmonton 2, Minnesota 1 (SO)

EDMONTON, Alberta, March 5 (UPI) -- Mike Comrie, who scored Edmonton's only goal in regulation Friday, also tallied in the sixth round of the shootout to give the Oilers a 2-1 win over Minnesota.

Both sides had two goals through the first five shootout rounds before Comrie put one past Niklas Backstrom.

Guillaume Latendresse, who also produced the lone goal for Minnesota during the three regulation periods, could have extended the shootout but was stopped by Jeff Deslauriers.

Edmonton ended a three-game losing streak and handed the Wild their first loss in three games.

Comrie put Edmonton in front 6:50 into the game and Latendresse tied it midway through the second period.

Deslauriers made 28 saves in the victory and Backstrom stopped 22 shots.
