The Red Wings, who lost their third straight game, were led by tallies from Kris Draper, Pavel Datsyuk and Valtteri Filppula. The loss was Detroit's 10th in its last 13 games.

The Blues seemed in control of the contest with 6 minutes to go, holding a 3-1 lead. But Detroit battled back when Datsyuk scored at the 14:26 mark and Filppula got the equalizer 3 minutes later by poking the puck past Mason during a scrum at the side of the net.

Jimmy Howard allowed three goals on 45 shots in the loss.
