ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Martin Havlat scored twice Thursday and Guillaume Latendresse delivered the go-ahead goal in the third period, lifting Minnesota to a 4-2 win over Edmonton.
Edmonton had won two games in a row on the heels of a 13-game losing streak.
Latendresse put a backhander past Jeff Deslauriers with 7:48 remaining in the third period to give Minnesota a 3-2 lead. Havlat added to the advantage with 3:36 left.
Havlat also opened the scoring 1:19 into the second period with a wrist shot. Minnesota began a five-game homestand and won for the first time in three games.
Josh Harding, who came into the contest nursing a sore hip, stopped 21-of-23 shots before aggravating the injury midway through the third period. Anton Khudobin came on to stop all nine shots in relief.
The Oilers have lost in each of their last 12 trips to Minnesota.
