NHL: Buffalo 3, Toronto 2 (OT)

TORONTO, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Derek Roy netted the overtime game-winner and added an assist in regulation Monday to pace the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 victory over Toronto.

With 1:25 left in overtime, Buffalo center Jochen Hecht gathered the puck in the right corner and found Roy all alone in front of the net. Roy then went to the backhand to flip it past Toronto goalie Jonas Gustavsson for the game-winner.

Hecht and Nathan Paetsch also scored for Buffalo, which downed the Maple Leafs for the ninth straight time. Ryan Miller stopped 34-of-36 shots in the Sabres' net.

Ian White and Viktor Stalberg tallied for the Maple Leafs, who have dropped three of their last four games. Gustavsson finished with 27 saves for Toronto, which saw a 2-1 third-period lead evaporate.
