NBA: Atlanta 110, Memphis 97

ATLANTA, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson produced 26 points Wednesday and Atlanta pulled away in the second half to its fifth straight win -- 110-97 over Memphis.

Atlanta turned a nine-point halftime lead into a 25-point cushion early in the fourth quarter and coasted to its 11th victory in 13 home games.

Al Horford added 15 points and 10 rebounds, Josh Smith had 14 and Maurice Evans 13.

Memphis was led by a career-high 20 points from Sam Young, 16 of those coming in the final period. The Grizzlies had been trying for their first three-game road winning streak since April 2006.

Johnson scored seven consecutive points in the third period, during which the Hawks outscored Memphis 32-24.
