Woods' mother-in-law hospitalized

OCOEE, Fla., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- A woman seen being taken by ambulance from golfer Tiger Woods' Florida home Tuesday was his mother-in-law, Barbro Holmberg, officials said.

Dan Yates, director of marketing for Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Fla., said Holmberg was admitted to the facility with stomach pains and was in stable condition, WESH-TV, Orlando, reported.

"She is currently undergoing an evaluation," Yates told the broadcaster.

Celebrity news Web sites had reported that Holmberg flew from Sweden to Florida Monday to be with her daughter, Elin Nordegren, as she coped with a media firestorm surrounding allegations of Woods' infidelity following the golfer's Nov. 27 car crash outside the couple's $2.6 million Windermere, Fla., estate.

WESH reported a radio log indicating an adult female was taken to the hospital while on "advanced life support." The station also shot video footage that appeared to show a woman on a stretcher being attended to by paramedics at Woods' home.

Video footage posted by WFTV.com showed a Cadillac Escalade resembling Woods' parked outside the hospital and described the driver as a blonde woman.

The latest incidents came as reports surfaced that Nordegren had moved out of the mansion and has reportedly purchased an island retreat near Stockholm.

The New York Post Tuesday cited comments from unnamed "neighbors and sources close to Woods" published by RadarOnline.com indicating Nordegren, 29, was now living at a residence near Woods' Windermere, Fla., home.

Barry Bond's son arrested after fight

MENLO PARK, Calif., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- The 19-year-old son of former San Francisco Giants baseball star Barry Bonds was arrested in California after a violent fight with his mother, authorities say.

Menlo Park, Calif., police spokeswoman Nicole Acker said Nikolai Bonds was booked into the San Mateo County Jail Saturday after being arrested for allegedly spitting in his mother's face and throwing a metal doorknob at her while they were arguing, the Los Angeles Daily News reported Tuesday.

Bonds was released later Saturday after posting $50,000 bail, Assistant District Attorney Karen Guidotti told the newspaper, adding that no charges had yet been filed.

Police said they were called to the scene by a friend of Sun Bonds, 45, after her son allegedly destroyed hundreds of dollars worth of property at the home and blocked the door so she couldn't leave.

Acker said Nikolai Bonds threw a doorknob so hard it embedded itself in a wall, although it missed her.

The Daily News said Bonds was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, assault and battery, vandalism, false imprisonment, and obstructing and resisting an officer.

NFL's Redskins make move at kicker

ASHBURN, Va., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Kicker Shaun Suisham, who missed a short field-goal attempt in the Washington Redskins' loss last weekend to New Orleans, was cut Tuesday, the NFL team said.

Suisham, who was in his second season with the Redskins, made 18-of-21 field-goal attempts this year but it was a miss from 23 yards out Sunday that led to the roster move.

Washington was up 30-23 with 1:56 to play in the fourth quarter and was looking for Suisham to seal the victory over the undefeated Saints but he pushed the kick to the right. New Orleans went on to tie the score and win the game 33-30 in overtime.

Both of his other misses -- from 39 and 50 yards -- occurred during a 7-6 loss at Dallas last month.

The Redskins signed Graham Gano to take over their kicking duties. Gano played for Las Vegas of the United Football League this fall, making 14-of-16 field-goal attempts, including the game-winner in the UFL title game.

Pacers' Granger out 4-6 weeks

INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Indiana Pacers leading scorer Danny Granger will be out at least a month because of a foot injury, the NBA team said Tuesday.

Granger had been slowed all season by a foot injury. He missed practice Monday and underwent an examination that confirmed a torn right plantar fascia, tissue which supports the arch. While no surgery is required to address the injury, Granger is expected to be out 4-6 weeks.

He is averaging a team-high 24.4 points, more than a quarter of the team average of 97.1 points a game. Granger is third on the team with 6.1 rebounds per game.

Granger is in his fourth NBA season -- all with Indiana. Last season he led the Pacers by scoring 25.8 points a game.
