NFL: Washington 27, Denver 17

LANDOVER, Md., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Washington came from behind with a Shaun Suisham field goal and a 1-yard TD run by Ladell Betts in the fourth quarter Sunday and beat the Denver Broncos 27-17.

The Redskins (3-6), trailing 17-14 at the half, tied the contest with a 30-yard kick by Suisham 4 1/2 minutes into the final quarter and took the lead on Betts' run with 2:44 to play.

Suisham added a 35-yard field goal a little over a minute later, sealing a victory that ended a four-game losing streak.

Betts, playing in place of the injured Clinton Portis, carried 26 times for 114 yards.

Washington also scored on passes of 35 yards from Hunter Smith to Mike Sellers and 2 yards from Jason Campbell to Todd Yoder.

Campbell finished with 17 completions in 26 attempts for 193 yards.

Kyle Orton threw scoring passes of 40 and 75 yards to Brandon Marshall and Matt Prater kicked a 24-yard field goal for Denver (6-3).

Orton left the game with an ankle injury late in the second quarter after gaining 193 yards on 11-of-18 passing.

Chris Simms took over at quarterback for the Broncos and completed just three passes for 13 yards and an interception in the end zone.
