Elliott races for Breast Cancer Awareness

CONCORD, N.C., Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Bill Elliott hopes to help the Wood Brothers make their 100th start in Charlotte at Saturday's Sprint Cup NASCAR Banking 500 at the Loews Motor Speedway.

Overall, the Wood Brothers have recorded six wins, 24 Top Fives, 38 Top Tens and 20 poles.

Elliott has driven in 59 races at the Concord, N.C., course with two wins, 11 Top Fives, 22 Top Tens and four poles.

His #21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion will sport a "Warriors in Pink" paint scheme in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, and he will wear a "Warriors in Pink" fire suit and helmet during the race.

Drivers will attempt to qualify Thursday and two practice runs are scheduled for Friday.

In a release, Wood Brothers Racing said Elliott's suit and helmet will be available through an online auction with all proceeds from the race benefiting "Susan G. Komen for the Cure."
