SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A three-goal, second-half barrage Saturday gave the Columbus Crew a 3-0 Major League Soccer win over San Jose Earthquakes.

Alejandro Moreno broke a scoreless tie in the 69th minute, followed by Robbie Rogers in the 73rd and Adam Moffat in the 87th.

Their fourth straight victory increased the Crew's record to 9-3-9.

Columbus last lost 2-1 on June 20 at FC Dallas and leads the Eastern Conference over second-place Chicago.

San Jose (4-11-5) failed to continue the momentum built last Sunday in a 4-0 victory against the expansion Seattle Sounders and remained last in the West.
