MADRID, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Former world No. 1 Rafael Nadal will end a 10-week absence from the men's tennis tour next week at the Rogers Cup tennis tournament in Montreal.

Nadal, 23, has been recovering at home in Mallorca, Spain, with tenidinitis in both knees, which forced him to withdraw from Wimbledon. He is Montreal's defending champion.

Nadal has not played since a 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), 4-6, 6-7 (2-7) fourth-round loss to Robin Soderling at the French Open in June and also missed Spain's 3-2 Davis Cup semifinal victory last month against Germany.

"I don't think he'll be in very good form," Nadal's manager and brother, Toni, said on RafaelNadal.com. "He's been training well but without forcing things. The goal is to gradually pick up form for the U.S. Open."

Nadal was a semifinalist in 2008 at both the Australian and U.S. Opens.
