
CLEVELAND, July 18 (UPI) -- Franklin Gutierrez hit his second homer in as many games Saturday to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 3-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians.
Gutierrez's two-run blow enabled the Mariners to win for the fifth time in their last seven games. Russell Branyan added a sacrifice fly for Seattle's other run.
Jarrod Washburn (7-6) earned his first road win since his first start of the season by allowing one run on eight hits 6 2/3 innings. The left-hander has given up just two runs in his last three starts, covering 22 2/3 innings.
David Aardsma earned his 21st save of the season.
Jamey Carroll had two hits and an RBI and Asdrubal Cabrera, Victor Martinez and Travis Hafner each had two hits in the loss.
Tomo Ohka (0-4) suffered the loss after giving up only three runs on four hits and three walks in seven innings.
