MINNEAPOLIS, June 2 (UPI) -- Joe Mauer was 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI Tuesday, delivering the Minnesota Twins a 4-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians.
Denard Span was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Twins, who played without third baseman Joe Crede (knee) and right fielder Michael Cuddyer (index finger).
Kevin Slowey (8-1) recorded his fourth straight win, giving up two runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings. Joe Nathan got the final four outs for his 10th save of the year.
Victor Martinez had a solo home run for the Indians. Kelly Shoppach had two RBI.
David Huff (0-2), making just the fourth start of his career, allowed four runs on nine hits in five innings.
