BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., May 31 (UPI) -- The Chicago Fire managed just two shots on goal Sunday and lost for the first time this Major League Soccer season in a 3-0 loss to FC Dallas.
Chicago, which leads the league with 20 goals this season, was unable to solve the Dallas defense and never seriously threatened until John Thorrington hit the post in the final 5 minutes.
Jeff Cunningham put Dallas ahead 1-0 in the 15th minute with a header off a corner kick by Dave van den Bergh.
An own goal by Chicago's C.J. Brown made it 2-0 later in the half. Kevin Cooper capped the scoring in the 80th minute.
