MIAMI, May 24 (UPI) -- Ross Gload's 11th-inning RBI Sunday lifted the Florida Marlins to a 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays and averted a three-game sweep.

Gload, Chris Coghlan, Jeremy Hermida and John Baker all had three hits, with Baker driving in two runs, and starter Josh Johnson had one RBI for the Marlins, who had 17 hits and snapped a four-game losing streak.

The winner was reliever Brian Sanches (1-0).

Three Tampa Bay players had one RBI, including Jason Bartlett, whose solo homer created a 4-4 tie with two outs in the top of the eighth inning.

One run scored on Johnson's sixth-inning wild pitch and Akinori Iwamura had a run and three hits for the Rays, who had won three in a row.

The losing pitcher was Lance Cormier (0-1).

Iwamura suffered a left knee injury in the bottom of the eighth inning and had to be carted off the field.
