MLB: Kansas City 2, Texas 0

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 18 (UPI) -- Zack Greinke scattered seven hits and reached 34 consecutive scoreless innings Saturday to pitch the Kansas City Royals to a 2-0 victory over Texas.

Greinke (3-0) struck out 10 without walking a batter for his first shutout in the majors. Greinke, 25, has not allowed a run in 20 innings this season, during which he has given up 16 hits and five walks while striking out 26.

Billy Butler had an RBI double in the sixth inning and Miguel Olivo hit a solo home run in the seventh as the Royals got their fifth win in the last six games.

Losing pitcher Kevin Millwood (1-1) also had a complete game. He allowed two runs on five hits while the Rangers lost for the seventh time in their last eight games.
