MONTREAL, March 31 (UPI) -- Carey Price made 28 saves Tuesday, backstopping the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Alex Kovalev, Guillaume Latendresse and Andrei Markov scored for the Canadiens, who have won three of their last four games.
Montreal is one point ahead of Florida for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference. Montreal has 88 points and sits one behind the New York Rangers with six games remaining.
Patrick Sharp scored the only goal for Chicago, which has 91 points and is in a battle with Vancouver and Calgary for home-ice advantage in the first round of the West playoffs.
