Spain ousts Serbia in Davis Cup

BENIDORM, Spain, March 8 (UPI) -- Rafael Nadal beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets Sunday, clinching a Spanish win over Serbia in the Davis Cup.

The world No. 1 star won 6-4, 6-4, 6-1, giving his team an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five matches. David Ferrer followed with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Viktor Troicki for a final 4-1 Spanish victory.

The matches were played at Beniform, Spain.

Spain will take on the German team in the cup quarterfinals in July.
