NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 7 (UPI) -- Mark O'Meara, looking for his first Champions Tour victory, posted a 5-under 66 Saturday to tie Bernhard Langer for the lead at the Toshiba Classic.
Langer, the defending champion, closed his second round Saturday with three birdies on his last four holes for a 3-under 68. O'Meara and Langer were tied at 9-under 133 for a one-shot lead over Eduardo Romero (68).
Denis Watson (68) was two shots off the lead at 7-under 135. Fred Funk (67), Tom Jenkins (67) and John Cook (67) shared fifth at 6-under 136.
Langer, a 51-year-old two-time Masters champion, has won five times since 2007 on the seniors Champions Tour. O'Meara, also a two-time major champion, has yet to win on the senior tour at 52 but he's had four second place finishes.
