ZAGREB, Croatia, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Marin Cilic won Sunday's final at the Zagreb Indoors tennis tournament with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph against compatriot Mario Ancic.
The victory gave Cilic his second ATP singles title this season and the third of his career.
The 20-year-old Cilic navigated the tournament in his hometown without dropping a set in any of his five matches, and faced a tiebreak on his serve just once.
"It's a great feeling, I'm playing very well," Cilic said after improving his record this season to 13-1. "It shows that I worked hard in the preseason. I'm just going to try and continue with this form."
It was the first-ever meeting between the two Croatians.
Ancic, the seventh seed, played in his 11th career final a day after a lengthy three-set 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 7-6 (11-9) semifinal win over Jan Hernych of the Czech Republic.
The loss dropped Ancic's career record in title matches to 3-8.
