NHL: Colorado 5, Vancouver 4 (SO)

DENVER, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Wojtek Wolski scored the game-winner in a shootout Sunday, lifting the Colorado Avalanche to a 5-4 win over Vancouver.

Regulation ended in a 4-4 tie after Colorado's Daniel Tjarnqvist scored his second goal this season at 17:10 of the third period. In regulation, Colorado's Milan Hejduk had a goal and two assists, while David Jones (unassisted) and Ryan Smyth also scored once.

Peter Budaj made 34 saves on 38 shots before he gave up one goal in the shootout.

Vancouver's Steve Bernier scored twice, once on the power play in the second period. Darcy Hordichuk and Daniel Sedin also scored, while Cory Schneider was beaten four times on 35 shots for the Canucks, who have lost their last eight meetings with Colorado.

Bernier scored the lone power-play goal on five combined man-advantage chances.
