SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Taj Gibson scored 17 points with nine rebounds Friday to lead 20th-ranked USC's 73-46 rout of Chattanooga at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic in San Juan.
Southern California trailed early, but an 11-0 run led to a 39-29 advantage at the break, helped by nine first-half Chattanooga turnovers.
The Trojans settled the issue by scoring the first seven points of the second half and their biggest lead was 73-46 with 31 seconds left.
Dwight Lewis scored 16, DeMar DeRozan had 13 points and six rebounds, while Daniel Hackett added 10 points and seven assists for the Trojans (3-1), who bounced back from Thursday's 63-61 loss to Seton Hall.
Nicchaeus Doaks scored 14 points with 12 rebounds, and Stephen McDowell, the only other Chattanooga player in double figures, scored 10 points for the Mocs (0-4), who have lost their four games this season by an average of 26.5 points.
