NFL: Minnesota 28, Houston 21

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Gus Frerotte tossed three touchdown passes Sunday, fueling Minnesota's 28-21 win over the Houston Texans.

His 25-yarder to tight end Visanthe Shiancoe gave Minnesota what turned out to be an insurmountable 28-14 advantage with 6:26 left.

The 15-year veteran finished with 11 completions in 18 passes for 182 yards with one interception.

Running back Adrian Peterson scored once among his 25 carries for 139 yards, and wide receiver Bernard Berrian also scored once on just two catches for 104 yards for the Vikings, winners in three of their last four contests.

Houston's Sage Rosenfels, subbing for the injured Matt Schaub, completed 21-of-29 for 224 yards, two touchdowns and a third-quarter interception.

Schaub left the contest after halftime with a left knee injury.

Tight end Owen Daniels made 11 catches for 133 yards.

Wide receiver Andre Johnson scored once on four catches for 62 yards, and rookie running back Steve Slaton rushed for 62 yards on 16 carries for the Texans, whose three-game winning streak ended.
