IRVING, Texas, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Dallas quarterback Tony Romo said Tuesday he will miss his second straight game Sunday because of a broken pinkie finger on his throwing hand. Romo said he might not return until a game against Washington Nov. 16.
The Cowboys originally announced Romo would be out of action for a month when he broke the finger in an Oct. 12 game against Arizona.
Romo then gave consideration to starting last week in what turned out to be a one-sided loss to St. Louis.
In an appearance on the radio show of teammate Terrell Owens, Romo said Tuesday that backup Brad Johnson would start this week against Tampa Bay, "unless something different happens that we don't foresee."
Johnson completed 17 of 34 passes for 234 yards with three interceptions in the loss to the Rams.
Johnson will be appearing against the team he led to the Super Bowl title six years ago. He becomes the fifth Super Bowl winning quarterback in NFL history to face his former team.
