
NASHVILLE, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Martin Erat scored twice and Shea Weber had a goal and three assists Saturday when the Nashville Predators downed the Columbus Blue Jackets, 6-3.
The contest, played at Nashville's Sommet Center, was the second game of a home-and-home weekend set.
Nashville's David Legwand, Joel Ward, and Rich Peverley (unassisted) also scored.
Netminder Dan Ellis stopped 23-of-26 shots for the Predators, who have split their last four contests.
Jason Chimera, Marc Methot, and Rick Nash all scored goals for Columbus.
Kristian Huselius assisted twice, while goalies Fredrik Norrena (4-in-11 shots) Daniel LaCosta (2-in-19) struggled in net for the Blue Jackets, who have lost three of their last four games.
Both teams had four power-play opportunities, but neither was able to score with the man advantage.
