BOSTON, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Newly acquired Mark Kotsay had three hits and three RBI Saturday when the Boston Red Sox recorded their second straight win, pounding the Chicago White Sox 8-2.

Kotsay was obtained this week in a trade with Atlanta. Another recent acquisition, Jason Bay, hit a first-inning two-run double.

Jeff Bailey had one RBI, while Dustin Pedroia led a 15-hit attack with four hits for the Red Sox, who have won eight of their last 11 contests to stay within five games of AL East-leading Tampa Bay.

The Rays beat Baltimore 10-9 Saturday.

In his major league debut, winning pitcher Michael Bowden (1-0) allowed two earned runs and seven hits in five innings.

Chicago's Alexei Ramirez and A.J. Pierzynski both had two hits and one RBI. Five others had one hit apiece for the White Sox, losers in four of their last 10 outings.

Losing pitcher Mark Buehrle (11-11) gave up seven earned runs and 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings.
