PHOENIX, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Stephen Drew's RBI single touched off a four-run seventh Friday that vaulted the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 9-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Arizona halted its losing streak at four games and handed the Dodgers their eighth straight setback. The division-leading Diamondbacks lead the Dodgers by 4 1/2 games in the NL West.
Arizona had only a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh, but the Diamondbacks blew the game open thanks in part to an error by Los Angeles shortstop Nomar Garciaparra.
Pinch-hitter Justin Upton opened the inning with a double off Chan Ho Park and Drew singled Upton home. Chris Young singled Drew to third, after which Garciaparra booted a grounder by Conor Jackson, allowing Drew to score.
Adam Dunn singled in Young and a base hit by Mark Reynolds brought home Jackson with the fourth run of the inning.
Starter Doug Davis (6-8) lasted five innings to get the win, giving up two earned runs on eight hits.
The loss went to Hiroki Kuroda (7-10).
