Derek Lee day-to-day with back spasms

CHICAGO, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Chicago Cubs first baseman Derek Lee is day-to-day after leaving Saturday's 9-2 win over the Washington Nationals with upper back spasms.

The Cubs said on their Web site that Lee hunched over after he struck out to end the fifth inning on an awkward swing and needed assistance from athletic trainer Mark O'Neal.

He missed five games in 2007 because of neck spasms.
