MLB: St. Louis 9, Cincinnati 3

CINCINNATI, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols hit two of the Cardinals' four homers Saturday to propel St. Louis' 9-3 win over Cincinnati, the Cardinals' fourth straight victory.

Pujols' 25th and 26th homers this season were solo shots in the third and fourth innings. Skip Schumaker launched a three-run blast to cap a five-run second and Ryan Ludwick hit a two-run homer in the fourth.

Yadier Molina and Aaron Miles both had two hits and one RBI. Pujols had three hits, while two other Cardinals had two hits.

Winner Joel Pineiro (6-5) surrendered three earned runs and seven hits in six innings with no walks and six strikeouts.

Cincinnati scored on solo homers by Brandon Phillips and Andy Phillips and Brandon Phillips' sacrifice fly. Javier Valentin had two of the 10 hits for the Reds, losers in three of their last four contests.

Losing pitcher Aaron Harang (3-13) surrendered eight earned runs and seven hits in 3 1/3 innings.
